Walk to Benefit the United Way of Collier County

On Saturday, September 26th from 8 AM to 12 Noon, The United Way of Collier County will hold its

Annual Walk for the Way at North Collier Regional Park. This year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Walk for the Way. Over 2,000 adults and children walked the 2.5 mile course together last year to signify their unity in helping others in our community. And, over 200 people participated in the 5k. North Collier Regional Park is located at 15000 Livingston Road, Naples, Florida. For questions please contact at: ann.bares@uwcollier.org or 239.263.4211.

The United Way Walk and Run for the Way 5k is the only local event to benefit over 30 local nonprofits in Collier County. The event raises awareness through a fun and healthy event, where families can meet and learn more about the United Way, as well as their Partner Agencies who address priority needs in our community, such as high-risk youth and disaster relief services. The United Way of Collier County works to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks for a good quality of life – education, income, health, and safety net services. A volunteer-driven organization, United Way of Collier County partners with hundreds of volunteers and 34 local charities to provide hundreds of human service programs and annually serves over 100,000 Collier residents. Ninety-nine percent of the money raised each year stays in our community. The remainder is provided to our state and national organizations for the guidance and technical assistance they provide. To give, to advocate, or to volunteer, please call 239.261.7112.

There are many different ways to help those less fortunate in our community. Naples Illustrated, Gulfshore Life and Florida Weekly all have lists of events in addition to other publications and community websites. We appreciate you.
