Local Golf from a Pro's Perspective
Many of the greats of golf have designed courses in Naples, Florida. A large number of developments in Naples are exclusive gated communities where luxurious residences overlook courses by such renowned designers as; Tom Fazio, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Arthur Hills, Lee Trevino, and Greg Norman just to name a few. Naples also claims a few world-renowned courses such as the Naples Beach and Golf Hotel which was frequented by Gene Sarazen during the 70s and 80s. In 2001 Calusa Pines opened its gates to private members and has been ranked amongst America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Grey Oaks has been included in America’s Best Golf Course Residential Communities every year over the past decade. The list of top notch courses is indeed significant.
Some of my personal favorites are as follows: Old Collier, Calusa Pines, Grey Oaks, Naples Grande, Collier's Reserve, Hideout, Fiddler's Creek, Olde Cypress and Naples National.
