The Franklin Templeton Shootout Returns to Naples
For the 14th consecutive year, the Franklin Templeton Shootout comes to Naples Florida and 24 PGA professionals will compete as 12 two-man teams. The event is celebrating its 26th year on the PGA TOUR calendar. Here are some notes regarding what has become a favorite annual gathering for professionals and amateurs.
Greg Norman, one time #1 ranked player in the world, is the host of this prestigious PGA sanctioned golf event. The players love this event as it’s a team approach like the Ryder Cup as opposed to the individual stroke play which dominates the PGA format.
The event is hosted at Tiburon located on Airport Pulling and Vanderbilt Beach Road. It is very spectator friendly. The golfers are more than happy to sign autographs once they leave the famous 18th green. It’s a great venue and the weather will be ideal over the weekend with temperatures in the low 70’s and bright sunny skies. What would you expect? Its Naples Florida in December just the way we like it.
Naples is fortunate enough to not only have two Greg Norman designed courses, but also many other courses designed by some of golfs most acclaimed architects and players such as Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Robert von Hagge, and Arthur Hills.
